5 Dreadful Conditions: Why You Must Tackle Obesity Now

Food is critical to human survival. Yet, excessive or inadequate food intake can be very detrimental to the health. Obesity has risen to become the bane of good life for many people today. 'Obesity' is confirmed scientifically when the body mass index exceeds 30; that is, excess fat has been accumulated in the flesh. Unfortunately, this problem (of excess fat) is actually the beginning of many problems. Obese persons are likely to develop other serious, life threatening diseases.

Obese People Stand at Great Risk of Non-Insulin Dependent Diabetes

From statistics, 90% of obese people are likely to develop this disease. Type II or non-insulin dependent diabetes normally occurs in people above 40 years of age but can occur in younger persons. It normally occurs due to decreased in or total inefficiency of carbohydrate digestion such that, sugar which usually supplies the body with energy (gotten from carbohydrate in food) is not harnessed by the body system. Thus, the disaster caused by diabetes horribly affects the eyes, nerves, blood vessels and all the major systems in the body.

Obese People are at Serious Risk of Various Heart Diseases

Different forms of heart diseases can result from obesity. They are the second most terrible outcomes of obesity in people. Excess fat in your body causes the accumulation of bad cholesterol in the blood and thus predispose you to life threatening heart conditions like stroke, heart attack etc.

Obesity Easily Leads to Hypertension

Another dreadful condition caused by obesity is hypertension which normally results from increase in blood pressure above normal range. Unfortunately, hypertension is symptomless until there are complications. Thus, the symptoms manifested in conditions of hypertension are often those of the complicating disease. Therefore, an obese person is unlikely to display signs of hypertension until the situation gets worse. Likely complications of hypertension in an obese person include kidney and heart failure, bleeding in the brain, and hardening of blood vessels.

Obesity Predisposes to Breast Cancer

Cancer is terribly ravaging the health of both rich and poor persons alike. Unfortunately, obese persons are particularly at a high risk of breast cancer. Breast cancer normally occurs as a sudden or gradual growth in the breast. Regrettably cancers spread rapidly, and delay in tackling this condition can lead to death.

Obesity Can Lead to Colon Cancer

The colon is at the tail end of the gut. Just like breast cancer, it has terrible consequences if not tackled immediately.

This is your plight as an obese person; another reason why you should pull yourself by your bootstraps and find a permanent solution now.
