If you are overweight or excessively fat, you must reduce immediately lest should you be affected by major diseases. But, if you maintain a fit and slim body, you need not be afraid of these diseases. But, to lose fat and weight and become slim, experts suggest strict diet and exercise regimens. This is easier said than done. You can follow these additional tips to keep fit so that you can lead a healthy life.

- You must ensure to drink a lot of water daily. Though the quantum of water human body requires is still not clear, on an average, one should drink 8 to 10 glasses of water daily. Water removes toxins from the body. Once these toxins are removed, the fat cells inside the body get weak and hence you will be able shed fat easily. Water hydrates the inner organs of the body. If you drink two or three glasses of water prior to eating your food, the intake of your food will come down. Another point is whenever you feel hungry, it may not really be hunger. Even thirst is sometimes felt as hunger. You should drink water and verify. If the feeling of hunger goes off, it is not hunger but it is thirst that is felt as hunger.

- You can also drink a lot of fruit juices but you should avoid adding sugar to these juices. Sugar contains bad carbohydrates and hence is harmful. It may increase calories also and hence may not help you in reducing your weight or fat.

- For planning your diet regimen, you should change your way of thinking. Instead of concentrating on the foods you should avoid, you should focus on the foods you can include in your diet regimen. The main thing is that your diet regimen must have more of fiber items.

- You should not eat your food unless you are hungry. Some people consider eating as a ritual and do this when the clock strikes the regular eating time. This is not advisable. You can wait till you get hungry and then eat.

- During nights, you should not eat heavy foods. Your meal during nights should be as light as possible. If you are forced to eat heavy food in the nights, you should retire for bed only after two hours after your night meal.

- Your diets should consist more of proteins. The carbohydrates and fats you choose must be good carbohydrates and good fats.

- You must immediately stop eating junk foods, processed foods and oily and spicy items. Instead, you must eat more of fiber foods like fresh fruits and vegetables.

- Another main suggestion every one will like to hear is that you need not avoid your favorite foods. You should reduce the quantity. If you avoid eating them completely, you will develop cravings for them because they are your favorite foods. When you get a chance to eat them, you will binge on them and that will derail your attempts to reduce your weight and fat.

- You must do your exercises daily for being fit and maintain your health. Good exercises will give you a sense of well-being.
